I have 3 domains;
I never use any of them but I think I am going to try update them now and do something with them. So today I went and updated each page; they are all identical portals now. That's until I can think of something to do with them. I might make a small review web site and I'll keep Fran of Viera up, seeing that it still gets plenty of hits. Apart from that though I don't know!
So I walked into my local GAME store the other day, you know the one. There is some guy wearing a GDI Command & Conquer shirt, I walk over and ask where he got his shirt from. He tells me the store gave it to him for promotions and I asked if they sold them. He went to look in the back, came back out and asked if I was pre-ordering the game. After I confirmed that I was, he walked back in and came out with 2 shirts. A Large Size GDI and a Medium sized NOD and gave me the "size?" question. So I got me a new NOD shirt "In NOD we trust", and it's freaking awesome. What's the best bit? It's free, and I got a wink from the staff! Haha! Yes, sometimes boobies do help. So my C&C3 is pre-ordered! Yeah baby!
Final Fantasy 12: RW is out in Japan right now and I thought I would give it a quick go. After about 15 minutes of playing I had seen 4 pretty amazing FMV's, battled 1 boss, had a few normal battle maps, went against another boss team, created a small monster army, got 2 new party members and learned the basic play of the game. Holy crap! I love when games pretty much throw you in and this one wastes no time.
The battle system works 100% with the touch pad. You can select your character directly or with the icon in the top left. Select the monster you want to attack and wallaa! Monster going down. You level up per map which works out as 'kill all the monsters on the map' and 'go to the goal'.
You'll get some more story line and head towards the next map. Very simple game play but honestly fun. I recommend you get yourself a copy when it's released in English.
Graphically I was about to be in awe when I saw the maps looked kind of 3-D. It's like a 3-D/2-D game. Some of the maps and structures will look 3-D but I believe it's some cunning 2-D trickery. All the characters are tiny 2-D pixels and for some reason memories of Grandia flood back. Don't expect anything amazing however, the game has a lot of FMV's to fit in and it's only 128mb in size!
Music comes direct from FF12, I am sure it's tweaked to save space but I could not hear the difference at all. It's a shame however that they did not make a new musical score. Square have always amazed me with their music in games and to hear a repeat was a bummer.
Fun Factor hit a good 7/10. I am sure it could become boring if it stays this easy all the way through however from the screen shots I've seen it gets a bit manic with the monster armies. I hope to see the story develop a lot more also. One thing I did not like is how it is 100% controlled via the touch pad (accept from the general select all/individual and OK). I liked how FF3 could work via both control's and I think they should of kept that now. Another thing I touched on earlier was the lack of new music near the start of this game, it makes me feel that Square got lazy. I know they could of done better.
